Editor-in-Chief

Meet Helena, our editor-in-chief! This busy gal is an award- winning writer and content creator with over two decades of experience covering stories about food, drinks, and living life to the fullest. She’s authored and published five cookbooks, has worked extensively on a variety of reality cooking shows and produced a wealth of branded recipe and lifestyle content for live television. When she’s not working on The Mixer, chances are you’ll find her at home, cooking and shaking up drinks for her pals, getting lost in a good book or movie, or going on road trip adventures and weekends away.

Favourite Cocktail: The Aperol Spritz has been my favourite cocktail for at least two years. While some might call this boring, I call it timeless! I love this sparkling Italian icon because it’s super refreshing with a slight bitterness that’s balanced out by hints of orange and herbs. The low ABV content also means I can enjoy more than one (and I usually do) without needing the hair of the dog the next day. Winning!

Best Mixer Tip: Use premium ingredients. I’m not saying reach for top-shelf brands, but make sure that what you’re using is good quality. It makes all the difference.
